Obama Lied: New Details Confirm $400 Million Given To Iran Was Indeed "Hostage Ransom"

For the self-described "most transparent administration ever" it appears keeping the lies straight is becoming harder and harder. Having slammed the press, Donald Trump, and anyone who dare mention the "lack of logic" in paying a $400 million ransom for 4 Iran hostages, WSJ reports that Treasury officials have confirmed that Obama lied and in fact, the tightly scripted exchange of cash was specifically timed to the release of several American prisoners held in Iran. Trump was right again.

10 Orwellian Moments Found In The Newly Leaked Private NSA Newsletters

The Intercept recently began releasing batches of top secret internal newsletters from the most important division of the NSA, the Signals Intelligence Directorate, or SIGINT. This is basically the spy division. The internal newsletter, SIDtoday, was never meant to be read by anyone outside of the agency, but it trickled out with the Snowden leak and has been waiting for proper publication. The Intercept will release nine years worth of articles in batches. So far there have been two, and they contain hundreds of articles. After reading hundreds of them, here is a list of the most Orwellian SIDtoday NSA newsletters...

Exports were just as dismal, also missing expectations, plunging 14.1% YoY - worst since Oct 2009. The biggest driver of the collapse of Japanese trade was a 44% crash in the Chinese trade balance. There's no lipstick to put on this pig... it's a disaster.. and worse still Yen is strengthening back below 100 against the USD.

Carl Icahn Turns Apocalyptic: "I Am More Hedged Than Ever, A Day Of Reckoning Is Coming"

"I have hedges on, I'm more hedged than I ever was. [The market] is way overvalued at 20 times the S&P and I'll tell you why: a lot of it is a result of zero interest rates. That's going to be hurtThere's going to be a day of reckoning here.  I've seen it many times in my life.  When things look good, they look great.  You go into the sky.  But that's when you have to really pull down and really stop buying."

Bad Data, Broader Alarms, And Business Cycles

The economy is pointing downward with alarms ringing in a wider and broader variety of important economic accounts. From this view, it is no wonder the FOMC overreacted to the May payroll report; that’s all that is left as it is more and more isolated.

How The East Coast Is Getting Rid Of Its Gasoline Glut

With the East Coast at gasoline stroage capacity, and quietly transporting unwante excess gasoline to other parts of the country, it is no longer accepting inbound cargoes.  The products tanker Torm Gyda will be open for charter Aug. 21 at El Palito, Venezuela, after discharging a cargo that was diverted from N.Y. Venezuela's Oil Crisis Is Opening Old Wounds With Colombia

Last week, Venezuelans lined up at their westerly border to visit Colombia for just a few hours and buy the essential everyday supplies once offered to them at low, subsidized prices by their prosperous socialist government. But, as oil prices slowly and steadily recover, will this model of brotherly cooperation prove to be sustainable in the long run?

More Crony Capitalism: Aetna Gives An Ultimatum To The DOJ - "If Humana Deal Is Blocked, We Exit Obamacare"

In a glaring example of crony capitalism, Aetna CEO Bertolini wrote that, despite Aetna’s past support for Obamacare, "unfortunately, a challenge by the DOJ to that acquisition and/or the DOJ successfully blocking the transaction would have a negative financial impact on Aetna and would impair Aetna’s ability to continue its support, leaving Aetna with no choice but to take actions to steward its financial health."

Donald Trump The Crisis Actor: A Conspiracy To End All Conspiracy Theories

ISIS Has A New Focus: Killing Christians And Bombing Churches Wherever They Can Find Them

by Michael Snyder, End Of The American Dream:
If you are a Christian, ISIS wants to kill you. Our politicians keep telling us that our battle with ISIS is not a “religious war”, but to ISIS it most certainly is. As you will see below, ISIS has a new focus. They are very clear about the fact that they intend to kill as many “citizens of the cross” as they possibly can, and they plan to bomb churches wherever they can find them. In a previous article, I explained how an entire church in the U.S. ended up on an ISIS kill list, and we just saw in France that they are willing to strike anywhere and at any time. Religious targets now appear to be a top priority for ISIS, and that means that every church and every Christian in the western world needs to start thinking differently about security.

TODAY IS THE 45TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE EVENT IN MODERN MONETARY HISTORY

by Jeff Berwick, The Dollar Vigilante:
The US government, bankrupt yet again after another disastrous war of aggression, had its back pushed to the wall in 1971.
Up until that point, foreign central banks could redeem US dollars directly with the US Treasury in exchange for gold. And, recognizing that the US was essentially bankrupt, foreign central banks, especially France, began to demand gold instead of the dollar.
And then, on August 15, 1971, Richard “I’m Not A Crook” Nixon announced the monetary shot heard around the world.

In a series of tweets, former National Security Administration (NSA) contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden explained that recent attacks against a cyber-espionage organization tied to the NSA may be a warning worth heeding.
Members of the Equation Group, an organization of powerful hackers often associated with the NSA, was recently the target of a cyber attack. One of the items allegedly stolen was the attack code Equation cyberspies use regularly, also known as a “cyber weapon.” During an online auction, hackers allegedly involved with the attack offered to sell their discoveries to the highest bidder.

How Bloomberg Spun its Own Poll Data to Make Hillary Clinton Seem Inevitable

by Michael Krieger, Liberty Blitzkrieg:
Years ago, when I was an exchange student in the Soviet Union, a Russian friend explained how he got his news.
“For news about Russia, Radio Liberty,” he said. “For news about America, Soviet newspapers.” He smiled. “Countries lie about themselves, tell truth about others.”
American media consumers are fast approaching the same absurd binary reality. We now have one set of news outlets that gives us the bad news about Democrats, and another set of news outlets bravely dedicated to reporting the whole truth about Republicans.

Hillary Clinton: I’m a ‘No-Excuse Person’

from CNN via Washington Free Beacon:

Report: Secret Service Insiders Confirm: ‘Hillary Suffers From Parkinson’s… Experiences Seizures From Camera Flashes’

by Mac Slavo, SHTF Plan:
Several weeks ago the mainstream media began to paint a narrative of Donald Trump having mental issues and being unfit for the Presidency. Curiously, within a matter of days, stories began to emerge of bizarre behavior from Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. As it turns out it may be Clinton that is unfit for the Presidency.
From falls and difficulty climbing stairs to stage panic in the face of protest chants and nonsensical statements to her audience, something appears to be wrong with the former Secretary of State. In fact, even Hillary’s closest aide, Huma Abedin, noted in an email to a State Department employee that Hillary is “often confused.”

How to Make One of the Hardiest Non-Perishable Survival Foods

by Joshua Krause, Ready Nutrition:
Maintaining a supply of non-perishable food is usually of the highest priority for preppers, which explains why there is such a wide variety of books and articles catering to the prepper community, on canning, dehydrating, and storing food. But among all of the food preservation methods that are so popular with preppers, there is one little known method that stands out. It is by no means unheard of, but it isn’t nearly as popular as it used to be.
I’m referring to the process of making pemmican; a type of non-perishable food that is known for its high calorie density. Pemmican was first created by the Native Americans, and was later adopted by European settlers. It remained popular among pioneers, explorers, and military units well into the 20th century, when it likely fell out of favor with the proliferation of canned foods. Which is a shame, because pemmican is awesome. It’s loaded with all of the fat and protein you need to get through a hard day, and not to mention quite tasty as well.
